Animal Resources Centre (ARC), Ltd.
ARC was established in 1981 to produce high quality Specific Pathogen Free (SPF), genetically defined laboratory animals for research, diagnostic purposes and teaching.
The ARC produces outbred, inbred, mutant, hybrid, congenic, transgenic and targeted mutant strains of mice, outbred, inbred and mutant strains of rats, chickens and chicken eggs. The Animal Resources Centre produces and sells laboratory animals and fertile chicken eggs that are free from known disease causing organisms ie. specific pathogen free (SPF) animals. Many of the strains of animals produced have specified genetic characteristics ie. they are genetically defined. Production processes conform to high standards of animal welfare and meet requirements stipulated in the relevant codes of practice and legislation. Products are sold to organisations that undertake medical, veterinary and other scientific research, vaccine producers and pharmaceutical companies and which are known to practice high standards of animal welfare.
